The Milani scholarship is named in memory of our dearest Milani. Magnificent creation of God Inspiring thy mother Lori Ann And thy father Nathan as she lays in heaven guarding and protecting them forever.

This scholarship recognizes a graduating senior who has experienced the loss of a significant person in their life and demonstrates resilience and perseverance through community service.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

STUDENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR THE MiLANI SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDED THAT THEY MEET THE REQUIREMENTS AS LISTED BELOW:

​

  • Resident of Nassau County

  • Current high school student graduating in Spring of 2021;

  • Cumulative average at least 75%;

  • Accepted as a full time and first-time matriculating freshman, in Fall Semester 2021, at an accredited College or University in pursuit of a Baccalaureate or Associate Degree at the time the award is presented;

  • A person who has experienced the loss of a significant person in their life; and

  • Demonstrated resilience and perseverance through commitment to community service and extracurricular activities.

Applicants are screened by 3 D’s Aftercare Inc, Selection Committee and scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of their applications and interviews.

Applications and supporting documents must be Emailed to Info@3dsaftercareinc.org by March 30, 2021. Once all documentation is received, a zoom interview will be scheduled

  1. 500 word essay: How has the loss of the significant person in your life affected the way you see the world now as well as the way you plan your goals for your future?

  2. Official Transcript

  3. 2 Letters of recommendation

  4. Letter verifying at least 20 hours of community service

  5. Letter of Acceptance (Once received)

  6. Letter from Bursar confirming registration (once registered for college)
